The City of Yorba Linda Traffic Commission held a public meeting on the revised Housing Element on Thursday, April 25. The audio recording of the meeting is available here.
The Traffic Commission reviewed the Traffic Analysis (TA) prepared for the Revised 2021-2029 Housing Element. Yorba Linda’s new, resident-driven Housing Element outlines zoning changes that align with State requirements and the Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA). The TA evaluates the potential traffic-related impacts caused by these zoning changes.
The traffic analysis indicates that the proposed rezoning in the Housing Element will not cause traffic conditions to fall below acceptable service conditions.
Following this meeting, the Planning Commission will review the Traffic Commission’s comments and recommendations related to the traffic impacts and conduct a public hearing at City Hall on Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. The Planning Commission will consider the General Plan and zoning code amendments within the Housing Element.
Additionally, the City has initiated another series of community meetings scheduled for May 9 and May 23 to share information regarding the revised Housing Element and answer questions from the community. For details on the upcoming public meeting schedule, visit YLLocalControl.com/Workshops.
This sequence of events will culminate in Yorba Linda voters’ ultimate choice to ratify the updated Housing Element through a ballot measure in November. This step aligns with Measure B, Yorba Linda’s Right-to-Vote Amendment, which ensures that certain zoning changes are subject to voter approval.
