The City of Yorba Linda has announced a rigorous public engagement process to receive feedback on the resident-driven 2021-2029 Housing Element Update. The Housing Element, a state-mandated process to update residential zoning to meet state requirements, plays a critical role in future housing development in the City of Yorba Linda. The current draft version of the Housing Element was recommended by 17 community members from a Working Group effort that concluded in July. The Yorba Linda City Council unanimously directed City Staff to move forward with the Working Group’s recommendations that seek to meet state mandates and retain local land use control in the City of Yorba Linda.
An extensive report created by the Resident Working Group can be found here.
“The City Council is thankful for the resident efforts to create a plan for the City. Now it is time to take it to the broader community to gather more input and to discuss the complexities of housing policy in California,” said Mayor Gene Hernandez. “Resident voices are a critical part of the Housing Element review process, and I encourage as much resident engagement as possible.”
The City of Yorba Linda is dedicated to preserving its distinct quality of life.
